Blue Lagoon Corp

Blue Lagoon Corp operates across wellness, hospitality, skincare, and sustainable destination development.

Overview

Blue Lagoon Corp is the parent company of distinctive brands and experiences that combine scientific research, responsible tourism, and design-led hospitality.

All of our activities are founded on years of experience in research, design, and innovation, guided by respect for nature. The deliberate interplay of design and business has positioned our subsidiaries as leading forces in their fields.

Origin

Our company is built on the solid foundation of the Blue Lagoon in Svartsengi, founded in 1992. Since then, the destination has established itself as one of Iceland’s most popular, and the Blue Lagoon was named as one of the wonders of the world by National Geographic in 2012.

As the parent company, Blue Lagoon Corp applies the extensive experience and knowledge it has acquired at the Blue Lagoon to the other operations in its diverse portfolio.

Operations

The core of our operations is in Svartsengi on the Reykjanes Peninsula, where the Blue Lagoon and Silica Hotel are located, along with The Retreat, a hotel and spa, and the Michelin-starred restaurant Moss. Beyond Reykjanes, our operations extend into the highlands, where Kerlingarfjöll Highland Base and Hrauneyjar open up Iceland's wilderness to tourists and make it accessible in a responsible manner. Our activities also extend worldwide with the sale of high-quality Blue Lagoon Skin Science products, developed from the waters of the Blue Lagoon and based on extensive research and expertise.

Our vision

Blue Lagoon Corp continues to invest in long-term destination development aligned with its values and expertise. New projects are currently under development in Þjórsárdalur and Hoffell, each envisioned as a distinctive destination shaped by local context, natural resources, and sustainable design principles.

With Blue Lagoon Corp’s holding in the Íslenskar heilsulindir ehf., we hold ownership stakes in several leading destinations around the country, including Fontana at Laugarvatn, GeoSea in Húsavík, Earth Lagoon in Mývatn and Vök Baths at Egilsstaðir. This enables us to play a key role as a leading force in Icelandic tourism, particularly in the field of experiential tourism, and to uphold our commitment to sustainability for the environment, communities and the economy.

Across all operations, we are guided by a commitment to sustainability, renewable energy, and long-term stewardship of place, with the goal of creating structures that stand the test of time and making the wonders of nature accessible to all.
