We actively participate in the development of Icelandic bathing culture.

Laugarvatn is located on top of a geothermal hot spot, where the earth seethes with boiling water that has been used for cooking, bathing, and heating for generations.
New and improved baths will open in Fontana in the summer of 2026. Changes to the Fontana facilities include a new sauna, locker room renovations, baths that extend to the lake, and a new steam room built directly above one of the most powerful geysers. These changes are intended to accentuate the history of the area and the surrounding nature.

The history of steam baths in the Mývatn area dates back to ancient times but is kept alive today in the modern environment of the Mývatn Earth Lagoon. Guests from all over the world are invited to experience Icelandic nature and hospitality.
Construction is underway at the Mývatn Earth Lagoon, where a new building is being constructed and bathing facilities will be improved and expanded. The design of the building and the new lagoon is inspired by the unique nature of the Mývatn lake area. The new building is integrated into the environment and local stone is used for the embankments, cladding, walls and floors. Guests will be able to walk directly into the lagoon from the changing rooms and move through three different areas. Other additions include a rock steam bath, waterfall, new bar and lava canyon separating the areas.
