2025 highlights.
The operation of Hotel Hrauneyjar went well last year. Work has continued on interior renovations, and changes were made to both the restaurant and reception, with enhancements to the appearance of common spaces and the guest experience. A camping site in Sandártunga was added to Hrauneyjar's operations during the year, in addition to all operations at the Hólaskógur mountain lodge. A store opened in Hrauneyjar in June, where visitors can purchase outdoor gear and products from Blue Lagoon Skin Science.
The development of a new website for Hrauneyjar also progressed during the year, where visitors will be able to view availability, book accommodation and learn more about the area.
The operation of Glacier World in Hoffell went well last year. In early July, a new bathing area opened, with major renovations made to the hot tub facilities and new changing rooms were built. There was a significant increase in attendance at the baths immediately following the opening. In addition to construction work on the bathing area, major improvements were undertaken to the entrance and parking lot, and the furniture was largely replaced. A store also opened in Hoffell this summer, where visitors can purchase outdoor gear and products from Blue Lagoon Skin Science.
Accommodation facilities at Miðfell were added to the company's operations at Hoffell during the year, and there are now four new apartments for rent in a renovated farmhouse.
In December, Christmas buffets were held for local residents, the town council, and companies in the area, and they were well attended and received.
